Well, this one I tried something more fantasy/steampunk/weird, and it turns out pretty cool to me, I love the way it look. I think I should dig deeper toward more cars like this, it look real cool.

Training 46 : Truck
This time, I tried something a bit unusual, and frankly not really efficient, by placing a smaller set of wheels behind the front one, but it look nice at least !

Training 45 : Classy farmers
This time, I've gone for a more utilitarian style, but with a slight "fancy" twist with the long nose and straight cabin.

Training 44 : More funky Hotrod
After the "Ford"ish 30's Rod from yesterday, now it's more of a 50's style Rod, with useless aerofin and other chunky details.

Training 43 : Restart after a long pause !
After a long drawing pause (I was working on some 3D project that I'll post here soon enough), I decided it was time to restart drawing a bit everyday.
To restart easy, I made a wacky hotrod looking car.

Training 32 : Ice Cream "Truck"
This one, is heavily inspired by american Ice Cream truck.
The shape is cool, but the lettering on the side is really weird.

Training 31 : One month !
I myself have a bit of a hard time to believe it, but I did stick to my idea of drawing on a daily basis.
Let's try en keep going like this !

Training 5 : 917 Part 2
Well, this one sucks... I didn't put enough time for it, so the result is quite weird looking. But still, I got a better understanding at proportion and how to place lines for perspective and shortcut.
I tend to draw things always bit too short, and probably a tad too tall. The back look like it's a SD (super deformed)... Well next time I'll try to take more time.

Training 4 : 917 Part 1
I still have to decide, but I think I'm going to split my training into groups of drawing :
2 days in a row Human, then 2 days Tree and 2 days Object+Perspective. The seventh day of the week will probably be a bonus one.
So, this time, a car it is.
Proportions are off pretty much everywhere, the top view is going sideways and look a bit strange, but still it's good to start somewhere. I also try and force myself to draw in bigger scale for those training sessions, as for now I tend to draw mini sketches... That's probably why this one might look like it's falling apart.

From roads to tracks, or tracks to roads : Take 2
I said that already in a previous post, will we see ever again a car manufacturer produce a car designed first for racing ?
Well, it's not annonce yet, but it seems like Ford is about to do that with its latest GT.
Rumored to race next year in Lemans for celebrating the 50th anniversary of their first win, they just unveiled the new Ford GT.
The first thing that strikes me, is the unforgiving narrowness of the thing, it look a bit strange from the top, but pretty sure it's extremely aero efficient. In relation to that, the interior look tinny and both the passenger and the driver are seated extremely close from one another, in the center of the car.
Other gimmicks on the car make it look more like a race car than anything else. Only a massive wing is missing to make it look like a proper "modern" racer.
Now that Lmp1 are far away from being normal car, it seems like a move to GT race is the "better" solution for Ford, even if it seems weird from them not to battle for the overall win.

For lack of better solution...
Since 2010 with Redbull Teaming up with Gran Turismo for the
X1, and most recently with the wonderfull book "The Timeless Racer"
from Daniel Simon, I've been "trying" to design a custom "Race" car in
3D.
"Trying", because I've never really succeed at it.
Since 2010 I've tryed at least 4 different design iteration + an airplane, and
I've never been close to a result I really dig. The overall shape always looked
good for me, but the final result look always weird and clumsy for the details and smooth surfaces...
Reason for that many failure, 2 big mistake : Jumping too
early on the 3D before fixing the 2D blueprint, and using a software that
doesn't match my need (and also limited skills, it's too easy to blame only on the
tools).
Turn out using polygone modeling is too hard for me regarding
product design. So, next time I'll go back to my first 3D Software (Rhino),
much more convenient for product in my opinion.
It's always good to try different design process, even when
they fail.

From roads to tracks, or tracks to roads ?
When Mclaren introduced the 650s, they made it crystal clear that switching to a P1 like front design will provide a 30% increase for aero efficiancy. From that point it was also clear that a replacement from the 12C GT3 to a 650s GT3 was incoming.
Weither or not this change of front styling was solaly design for a better GT3 package and then applyed to a road car will be a lucky guess. Mostly it's a nice reminder of what those car company used to be. Their sole purpose 50 years ago was not how many road car they could sell, but how many wins they could get from various championship.
Road car were just a legal step you had to pass in order to homologate your race car. That, brought legendary names like GTO and GT1.
From today's car company, Mclaren seams so far like the one with the closest and cleanest bound from tracks to roads.
Will they one day, create first a GT3 car and then civilized it for homolagation purpose seams unlikly, but at least the 650s GT3 looks like something else.
