Training 18 : City Spaceship

3 times in a raw, today's inspiration is coming from one friend (Emilien !). The idea of training my drawing is not only drawing subject that I don't usually do, but also the way that I do it.

I usually don't draw in perspective because I'm lazy, and in small sizes. This one, is a A3 3D"ish" floating city.

Down below you can see the preparation drawing that I did before jumping onto the A3, in order to get a better understanding of how several things would look like.

Although it was fun, it took me roughly 4 hour from first research sketches to final drawing...

Training 13 : Tree more Tree

Like yesterday, today's subject is a Pine. I really am getting use to switching between subject that I usually don't draw that much, and I enjoy it !

Today's Pine, is a Stone Pine "Pinus Pinea", with quite a lovely "head" and thin trunk.

Training 12

Time to start larger scale I think. This one, more than one tree (one small step at a time).

Those are Scots Pine "Pinus Sylvestris". I have a to find a better way to draw leaves.

Training 7 : Funky tree

This one, a Cornus Controversa 'Variegata' has an interesting shape, with its layered style. Still, it's a tree so a lot of leaves to draw.

I still have to find a better way to draw leaves, for now it's a bit too random in my opinion.

Training 3 : Tree !

Well, enough with the greek statue for now, for this time I tried a tree... good idea on the paper, not so fun after 45 minutes of drawing leaves only...

Still some proportion issues, but I start to get how branches and leaves group to form a tree.

Edit : Tree's name is Acer Japonicum.
